Troubleshooting Guide

If when activating your AnimSchool Picker license you get an error of Invalid Activation Key on Windows try these steps.

1. Close down any Maya instances.
2. Press [Windows Key] + R to open up the ‘Run’ dialog box.
3. Type in %AppData% and press OK.
4. Find the AnimSchoolPicker folder.
5. Delete the License.lic file inside.
6. Follow the Picker Offline Activation instructions here https://store.animschool.edu/picker-offline-activation/

If this did not work then you may need to remove existing fulfillments using the tool here and retrying. https://store.animschool.edu/license-deactivation-tool/

If you have changed computers and are unable to activate your license on the new computer, you may need to clear out the activations on the license. You may deactivate license fulfillments on this page. https://store.animschool.edu/license-deactivation-tool/

If you have trouble loading the deactivation page, make sure you are logged in with your account that purchased the AnimSchool Picker.

If you have activated your license on multiple computers and only want to deactivate for a specific computer, you will need to know the HostID of the computer you intend to deactivate. You may find the HostID using instructions here, these only help find the HostID of the current computer you are logged into. https://store.animschool.edu/how-to-find-your-host-id/

1. Open “System Preferences” by clicking on the Apple icon and choosing that option.
2. Select “Security & Privacy” from the “System Preferences” window.
3. Select the “General” tab, and select the lock in the lower left corner to allow changes.

    

4. Enter your computer username and password, then select “Unlock.”

    

5. In the “Allow apps downloaded from:” section, select the radio button to the left of “Anywhere.”

    

6. Close the window. You can now install unsigned applications that you trust. 

1. Quit out of System Settings if it is currently open
2. Open the Terminal application, from Spotlight with command+spacebar by typing Terminal and hitting return, or through the Utilities folder
3. Enter the following command syntax exactly: sudo spctl --master-disable
4. Hit return and authenticate with an admin password, the password will not show up on screen as you type which is typical for Terminal
5. From the Apple menu go to “System Settings”
6. Now go to “Privacy & Security” and scroll down to find the ‘Security’ section of the preference panel
7. The “Anywhere” option will now be selected and available under the “Allow apps downloaded from” selections
8. You can keep this enabled, or toggle the other options, the “Anywhere” option for apps will remain enabled and available in System Settings until disabled again via command line

After the Anywhere setting has been enabled, then follow these steps to download apps from anywhere.

1. Open “System Preferences” by clicking on the Apple icon and choosing that option.
2. Select “Security & Privacy” from the “System Preferences” window.

4. Enter your computer username and password, then select “Unlock.”
5. In the “Allow apps downloaded from:” section, select the radio button to the left of “Anywhere.”
