MacOS 15 Wi-Fi Privacy Update

Hello AnimSchool,

There is an upcoming privacy update coming to macOS 15 that may impact users. This update will assign a random MAC address to users connecting to a wireless network. This would lead to the AnimSchool Picker license no longer verifying correctly.

We will be releasing an update that will make this easier and we have a workaround that will help in the meantime. If assistance is require, feel free to reach out to shopkeeper@animschool.edu. Additionally if your existing licenses have stopped working, contact us and we can help resolve the issue.

Workaround Steps

  1. Acquire the UUID of your Mac.
    1. Run this command in terminal to print out the Mac UUID: ioreg -d2 -c IOPlatformExpertDevice | awk -F\" '/IOPlatformUUID/{print $(NF-1)}' (Or follow a guide online for getting your MacOS Hardware UUID from the a “System Report”)
    2. This should now display the Mac Hardware UUID which looks like: 9026XXXX-4010-XXXX-B31F-XXXXF6A9XXXX
    3. RLM needs this formatted a little differently, so we need to split it into 4 chunks of 8. For example: 9026XXXX-4010XXXX-B31FXXXX-F6A9XXXX
  2. Go to https://store.animschool.edu/picker-offline-activation/.
  3. Enter your Activation key in the top textbox.
  4. Enter the reformatted UUID into the Host ID box. This reformatted UUID needs to have uuid= in front of it.
  5. Enter the License Count based on the number of licenses on your Activation Key.
  6. Finish following the steps listed on the page to generate and place your license.
